My husband and I have had many conversations about what Amy must have thought about us during the process of building and buying our home. She was so pleasant, understanding, and accommodating to us in person, and we knew there must be a hidden side of her that secretly went bonkers about our number of requests, questions, misunderstandings, and changes. I’m actually sort of bummed she always kept such a high standard of professionalism, ‘cause it would have been so funny to see her crack and blow up at us. We would have totally deserved it. ? You see, building a home is the epitome of #firstworldproblems. Amy is excellently skilled at the art of validating people’s first world stressors. She watches as couples disagree about whether or not having a jetted tub was worth the extra $1750; she weighs in when asked, but also waits patiently as they come to their conclusion. When they [finally] do, she smiles and says, “I will put the change order in,” giving them the very validating sensation that the conversation was productive and important. I would definitely recommend Amy to my family and friends. In fact, Amy became a part of our neighborhood; we all had the common experience of calling or emailing Amy and saying something along the lines of “So…we thought about it more and would like to make another change…” and getting back a very friendly, “Ok, sure. Let me just get out your plans.” We all have our own stories from those crazy months of building our home that involve her… For example, I will never forget the energy I spent trying to get a special cabinet-drawer thing into my kitchen to accommodate a KitchenAid mixer. I brought her pictures and discussed how I thought it would be possible, but after much ado, I decided it wasn’t really worth it and that I didn’t really need it. It was at that moment I explained to her I didn’t even own one of those huge KitchenAid mixers, but I was trying to have a kitchen that would accommodate one in the future. We both laughed, and hers was the perfect mix of laughing-with and laughing-at me. It was as though she was saying, “Ok, that makes sense” and “You are so ridiculous” at the very same time. It was the kind of moment that happens when you spend many hours with people who are going through a very stressful process. That’s the thing--I never knew how intense, time-consuming, and energy-depleting the home-building process was. I’m confident that dealing with Amy made it much easier and smoother than it could have been. She treated us with respect and professionalism from the moment we walked into her office holding our toddler, and she continued with her pleasant and understanding nature throughout the entire process (even when said toddler was trying his best to destroy her office and the model home!). She was also easy to reach, and prompt in getting back to us. I’m sure it’s easy to have dissatisfied customers in the home-building process, so it should be that much more impressive when I say I was completely satisfied with Amy.↳ Alex R. , Bought a Single Family home with Amy Whaley as Sales Representative
Working with Amy Whaley is a thoroughly professional and pleasurable experience. She walked us through building a custom home every step of the way with an expertise that was comforting and helpful. Amy is very thorough and follows through on everything she says she is going to do---THAT is a very rare trait in today's business world and of very high value to me as a business owner myself. I would highly recommend Amy to anyone building a home!↳ Jennifer D. , Bought a Single Family home with Amy Whaley as Sales Representative
Right away, as soon as my husband and I walked into Amy's office the day we decided to purchase a home, we felt an overwhelming sense of reassurance that we were doing the right thing. Amy greeted us with a smile and was very friendly. She walked us through numbers, the process of buying a lot and home and all in the ins and outs of all the options we had for building a home. If we ever had a question during the process, her office was always open and she was eager to help - even when I had to bring my kids with me :). Amy was very thorough and always put in her opinion if we were struggling with decisions. Also, she always had an idea that we never would have thought of. I would highly recommend Amy to anyone buying and building a home.↳ Amy S. , Bought a Single Family home with Amy Whaley as Sales Representative
We had the pleasure of working with Amy Whaley, Director of Sales and marketing, while building our home. While we were new to the process Amy was able to guide us through the design and building of our home. She made a sometimes stressful process much more easier. Amy was very attentive to meeting our needs with answering questions and responding to our emails and phone calls promptly. She was very knowledgeable and provided us with different options during the building process that we didn't even know we had. From day 1 her expertise, patience and excellent customer service made her a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend working with her.↳ Audrey C., Bought a Single Family home with Amy Whaley as Sales Representative
Amy, Director of Sales and Marketing, was a pleasure to work with! Never, at any point, did my husband and I feel pressured in any way to make decisions regarding our home. She guided us through the home-buying process, as this was our first experience. (We were one of the first to purchase lots within the community and Amy did not even have a model to show us at the time). We "built" our home with a tremendous amount of guidance from her. We put our trust in her, she always followed through and didn't disappoint us in any way. She immediately addressed and responded to our questions and concerns. She was very easy to speak with and held our hand every step of the way. Amy even when out of her way to introduce new homeowners to each other to build our sense of community. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking to purchase a home!↳ Alyson G., Bought a Single Family home with Amy Whaley as Sales Representative
After 35 years as homeowners, and after 16 homes (4 new builds and countless major home improvement projects) we have finally found nirvana. High Performance Homes (HP Homes) and the Links at Gettysburg have combined to create the most ideal home we could ever imagine.
First, I have to rave about the technology. NetZero (i.e., creating as much energy as you use) has been taken to a whole new level by HP Homes. State of the Art, energy efficient only begins to tell the story. Engineered from the ground up, every detail is considered as it applies to the goal of net zero. Gone are those ugly solar panels and instead, solar shingles blend perfectly with the normal shingled roof. From the way they construct and seal the walls, insulate the living spaces, and use geothermal heating and cooling to the way they automate the mechanicals (i.e., smart house), select appliances and light fixtures, and use solar shingles; nothing is overlooked. The results speak for themselves. Already recognized by the Department of Energy, they are now in the running for DOE’s house of the year! Energy engineering is only the beginning of the construction process. Every little detail is thought out. We brought plans for our home already developed by another firm. HP Homes when through the plans with a fine tooth comb and recommend many places for improvement—for efficiency, for comfort, for flow. With the eye of an artist and the mind of an engineer, Kiere, the President and general manager, is still working tirelessly with us to ensure we have the home of our dreams. Once decided upon, he and his craftsmen are also perfectionists. Never satisfied with “good enough”; they will redo it until it is perfect. HP Homes also has customer service second to none! Amy is a wiz at keeping everything straight and making sure everything we ask and want is addressed…and very timely. Kiere and Amy have worked with us every step of the way. Listening to our wants and desires, recommending ideas, solutions and/or alternatives. They are very detailed and have kept us informed every step of the way. This is critical when they are building your dream home and you are not able to be there often to see the home come to a reality.
And I would be remise if I didn’t compliment HP Homes’ selection of The Links at Gettysburg. HP Homes can build an award-winning home anywhere; but they selected The Links as their flagship location. With gorgeous vistas and tranquil settings, The Links is idea and the best of both worlds. It is a neighborhood like no other…it is like going back in time when people actually socialized “over the back fence.” People are involved in their community with community events and activities. The Links is about 10 miles south of Gettysburg, a friendly “little city” that is gracious, inviting and steeped in history. Life is just a little bit slower in Gettysburg. While The Links is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of DC or Baltimore that you literally feel the stress melt away; it is close enough to take advantage of the amenities a large metropolitan area offers.↳ Dan M., Bought a home in 2015 in Gettysburg, PA 17325.

High Performance Homes is a builder with a vision for the future. They are not satisfied with the status quo in home building. We chose HPH because of their energy saving features and their quality building approach. HPH’s energy saving features not only save dollars every day for the life of the home, but, even more importantly, save natural resources and are environmentally sound. They are leading the way for the home design and construction industry.
We had nothing but the best experiences working with Amy and Kiere. Amy professionally led us through the sales process. She is experienced, knowledgeable, thorough, organized, and efficient. Her patience with us as we made our choices was much appreciated. We found Kiere very knowledgeable and approachable as he led us through various design choices. He was very accommodating in making plan changes and actually offered a number of ideas as we worked through them. His commitment to building better homes is evident.
We are very happy with our new home. It has proven to be an energy saver. It is comfortable and everything it was advertised to be. We have also found the Links community enjoyable and friendly. We highly recommend you check HPH out!↳ Mike and Breanda S., Bought a home in 2014 in Gettysburg, PA 17325.
