A comprehensive indoor air quality system compliant with EPA’s Indoor airPLUS label also provides important health protection. According to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), every certified Zero Energy Ready Home has a comprehensive package of measures to help minimize dangerous pollutants, provide continuous fresh air, and effectively filter the air you breathe. A smart home technology package is also included in the homes, enabling energy monitoring and complete heating, ventilating, and air conditioning control, as well as remote control of lighting, thermostats, and security from any smart device.

The Rochelle at The Links at Gettysburg model achieved a Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index Score of 23, meaning the home will consume nearly 60 percent less energy than an average new home. Based on the HERS Report, this home will save approximately $4K in the first year of ownership, $50K over 10 years of ownership, and $200K over 25 years of ownership. When you add the upfront incentives for investing in renewable energy, the system will save a homeowner more than $70k in the first 10 years of ownership alone. Annual savings calculations over time include an annual electricity cost increase of 5.5%.
